If you’re one of the 36+ million AshleyMadison.com registered users who’s data got leaked today by hackers from The Impact Team, your day just took a turn for the worse.. BIG TIME!
Ashley Madison is a popular adultery site that helps married people cheat on their significant others, with the slogan “Life is short. Have an affair.” It’s a hugely popular site, with reportedly over 36 million registered users looking for a little action on the side.
Last month, the hackers breached security protocols at Ashley Madison and stole a massive amount of data, nearly 9.7 gigabytes worth of information, and threatened to release this information to the public if the site was not shut down immediately.
Since Ashley Madison failed to comply with the hackers’ demands, The Impact Team followed through with their threat and posted Ashley Madison users information (names, credit card info, account details, secret sexual fantasies, etc) on the “dark web” for all to see.
The group posted a statement that said:
“Avid Life Media has failed to take down Ashley Madison. We have explained the fraud, deceit, and stupidity of ALM and their members. Now everyone gets to see their data … Find someone you know in here? Keep in mind the site is a scam with thousands of fake female profiles … Chances are your man signed up on the world’s biggest affair site, but never had one. He just tried to. If that distinction matters.”
So yeah, if you were active on Ashley Madison, you better start looking for a good alibi ASAP!
