Senator McCain believes that replacing the $1 paper bill with a coin could leads to bigger tips for strippers. Now, as someone who’s visited many Canadian strip clubs and has seen firsthand how awkward tipping with a $1 coin is, I think it’d be a disaster for the industry if this were to go through.
But what do I know? So we asked the girls at Rick’s Cabaret New York what their thoughts on this whole $1 coin business was, and here’s what they said:
“It’s fun to be ‘rained on’ with dollars,” said Rick’s Cabaret NY Girl Gianna. “But I don’t want to be hit by flying coins. That could be really painful.”
“We don’t get involved with politics, but what is he talking about? Replacing the dollar bill?” said Rick’s Cabaret NY Girl Kelsey. “I don’t think so!”
Rick’s Cabaret NY Girl Monica had a slightly different take: “We have so many business guys, guys from Wall Street as customers. They pay by the dance and it’s $20 per song. So it won’t really affect me too much. My garter belt is always full of 20s, but I understand the other girls concerns.”
