FLEET WEEK MAY BE CANCELLED, BUT RICK’S CABARET NYC WILL STILL HONOR SERVICE MEMBERS WITH FREE ADMISSION AND DISCOUNTED DRINKS
The Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard may have cancelled this year’s Fleet Week in the Big Apple, but leading gentlemen’s club Rick’s Cabaret/New York City says it plans to honor servicemen and women anyway with free admission all year.
The popular club at 50 West 33rd Street across from the Empire State Building says members of the armed forces will be granted free admission throughout 2013 by showing military I.D. They will also earn discounts on all drinks during the now-cancelled Fleet Week May 24-30.
“We’ve always been a favorite spot for members of the services to relax and interact with beautiful women and we don’t want anyone to feel deprived, just because the military has cancelled Fleet Week,” says Ken Sistrunk, general manager of the venue that Playboy has called “the #1 strip club in New York City.”
Fleet week was cancelled by the military as a result of the budget sequestration imposed by Congress.
Rick’s Cabaret Girl Kelsey expressed her opinion: “Boo to the sequester! Hell yes to our military!”
“Well, we don’t see any reason the guys and gals in the armed services should have to wait ‘til next year – come on down and party when you can,” Mr. Sistrunk said.
